How our ranking works

Revenue never touches the organic ranking.

This isn't a statement of intent — it's a rule our code is tested against. We wrote it down from day one so it isn't up for debate when commercial pressure comes.

On many price comparison sites, “cheapest” really means cheapest among the sellers who pay. Hani's difference is honest coverage: we rank every seller we scan by the same rules, and every list states clearly how many sellers we scanned.

  1. 1

The organic order looks at only three things

Price, seller trust and stock. Nothing else. The code that computes the ranking has no revenue-related input; if one were added, our automated tests would fail and the change couldn't ship.

  2. 2

Sponsored listing: one at most, always labelled

A list has at most one sponsored listing. It looks different, carries a “Sponsored” label and sits below the first-ranked listing — it never pushes that listing down or appears above it. If the sponsored listing also appears in the organic list, its position there doesn't change.

  3. 3

Affiliate links only decide which link opens

If a seller has an affiliate programme, “Go to seller” opens the affiliate link; otherwise it opens the direct link. You won't notice the difference, and the order doesn't change. Sellers with and without a programme are ranked by the same rules.

  4. 4

Premium is a feature, not a ranking

Premium members get features such as price alerts, price history and hiding the sponsored listing. The organic list a Premium member sees is exactly the same as everyone else's.

  5. 5

We set aside listings that break the “cheapest” claim

Refurbished products and sellers shipping from abroad turn up mixed into marketplace listings. We detect them, keep them out of the comparison and show how many we set aside and why at the top of the list. Free shipping gets its own badge, so lowering the sticker price and inflating shipping doesn't work.

  6. 6

We don't present a guess as a certainty

When we recognise a product by barcode or model number, we say “This product”. When it's based on looks alone, we say “Probably” and show alternatives; if the candidates are very close, we let you choose.

What you'll see on every price list

  • “14 sellers scanned · no paid ranking”We state our coverage every time.
  • “Verified 4 seconds ago”When the price was last checked on the seller's page.
  • SponsoredA single amber-labelled listingIt says plainly that it's paid; it isn't part of the ranking.
  • Low-rated seller warningSeller trust is part of the ranking; we clearly flag sellers with low ratings.

Don't want to see sponsored listings at all? Premium lets you turn them off completely.
